ILS is equipped with state-of-art laboratories to support R&D in emerging and innovative areas of plant diversity documentation, microbiology, genomics, transgenic technologies, plant physiology, cell and tissue culture, virology, phytochemistry, pharmacology, toxicology and environmental biology. ILS also promotes plant-people centric out-reach and extension activities aimed at rural development and empowerment of rural women and farmers through training and capacity building in floriculture, agro-techniques and cultivation of locally adapted plant resources for herbal gardens and kitchen gardens, sodic land management, bioremediation of wastelands, organic farming and utilization of bioinoculants for increased crop growth and yield.
We are currently working on major research projects of various applied fields of molecular biology, bioinformatics, synthetic and organic chemistry, plant metabolomics, plant tissue culture, plant pathology, industrial and food microbiology, enzymology and immunology, nanotechnology and other fields.
The current status, publications and details of projects are available over our pages, maintained and edited timely by our scientists. For details, go through our LinkedIn and Wordpress links.
